This morning was filled with deep warmth, gentle care, and meaningful connection as our Music and Love China chapter organized a compassionate community outing to the Shenyang Xinle Site Museum! Dedicated volunteer teachers, along with student volunteers from Shenyang No. 95 Middle School, came together with a unified purpose: to provide loving companionship, personalized care, and undivided attention to 18 orphaned children during an unforgettable cultural journey. From the moment the children arrived, our volunteers ensured that every child felt safe, cherished, and supported. Walking hand-in-hand through the museum, the volunteers carefully guided the kids as they discovered ancient tools, pottery, and rich historic relics, taking the time to explain fascinating details and answer every curious question with patience and encouraging smiles. Throughout the entire morning, our primary focus was on creating a comforting environment where these children—who often lack family support—could feel truly seen, valued, and embraced. Watching their faces light up with joy and seeing them comfortably hold hands with our student volunteers was a tender reminder of what Music and Love stands for. Today was an extraordinarily heartwarming day for our Music and Love China chapter as we organized a special silkworm culture trip at Shengjing Longcheng, dedicated entirely to bringing companionship, warmth, and joy to a hearing-impaired child and five orphan children. Accompanied by four thoughtful student volunteers from Liaoning Province Experimental High School, the kids spent a wonderful afternoon exploring exhibits and listening to guest presenter Mr. Zhang share the fascinating 8,000-year history of Chinese sericulture—a traditional heritage he is working to submit for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage recognition. Seeing the children’s faces light up as they learned and discovered together reminded us of the true heart of our mission: that through gentle presence, shared knowledge, and unconditional affection, we can make every vulnerable child feel cherished, included, and deeply loved. Today was an extraordinarily special day for all of us at Music and Love as our China chapter hosted one of my absolute favorite events of the summer: "My Favorite City"—a vibrant Chinese Cultural & Tourism Charity Showcase! Our talented youth volunteers took the audience on a colorful tour across China by sharing the rich history of Nanjing, the grand heritage of Shenyang, and the vibrant panda-filled culture of Chengdu in both English and Chinese, followed by heartfelt musical performances that filled the room with joy. To top off this incredible afternoon, our instructors led a hands-on leathercraft workshop where our volunteers paired up with children with special needs, helping them stitch and craft their own custom keepsakes to take home; seeing the kids' proud, beaming smiles as they created art together reminded me once again that whether through music, culture, or hands-on crafting, our mission is all about building a world where every single child feels seen, celebrated, and loved. The spotlight shone on the talented speakers from the Yuyun Youth Group, who captivated the crowd with vivid presentations detailing the heritage of the Shenyang Imperial Palace, followed by lively vocal and dance numbers. Adding a dynamic global dimension, we streamed exclusive musical recordings and warm wishes from our American volunteers on the main display, uniting audiences across two continents in real-time celebration. This morning, I had the incredible honor of serving as an organizer, host, and violin soloist for Music and Love’s Sino-U.S. Youth Summer Charity Concert at Wanda Plaza, an event that truly showcased our organization’s expanding global reach and commitment to international care! Representing our international team, I helped bring together young performers from across the globe to celebrate inclusion and community service. A breathtaking highlight of the day was a group dance by 13 courageous children with Down syndrome from the Honey Angel Art Troupe, whom Music and Love proudly supported with customized organizational apparel and special dining gift sets. Alongside inspiring live music and dance numbers from local youth, we projected performance videos and touching messages of encouragement from our U.S. members onto the plaza’s giant screen, effortlessly bridging the distance between the U.S. and China through the universal language of art. To deepen our impact beyond the stage, we also invited speech therapy specialist Teacher Zhang to conduct a dedicated language guidance session for the children after the show. Seeing kids of all abilities shine under one roof while uniting hearts across oceans makes me immensely proud, proving that Music and Love continues to serve as a powerful global bridge of empathy, cross-cultural connection, and youth leadership! Representing our organization’s expanding global reach, this event brought Chinese and American cultural appreciation together in a truly unforgettable way. We began our journey with an insightful bilingual guided tour led by Mrs. Penny, who walked us through the rich exhibits of Ancient Liaoning in both English and Chinese, helping all of us connect deeply with regional history and cross-cultural learning. Following the tour, we took the main stage for a heartwarming concert filled with energetic singing, vibrant dancing, and diverse musical performances. To wrap up the celebration, I picked up my violin to perform a piece for our audience, filling the museum hall with music that transcended language. As a youth leader, seeing children and families from different backgrounds gather under one roof to celebrate history and the arts made me immensely proud. It was inspiring to see our mission come alive in China as our brilliant 7th-grade youth volunteer guides led us through the ancient red gates, sharing fascinating stories of traditional Chinese heritage with participants and sharing our shared passion for culture across borders. The highlight of the day was an empowering hands-on session with Mr. Feng, who is visually impaired and introduced us to the world of Braille. He taught us how to read with our fingertips, giving everyone a deep appreciation for universal accessibility, inclusion, and empathy. To wrap up this unforgettable international gathering, I picked up my violin and performed a piece in the historic courtyard, blending classical music with ancient history. On July 4, 2026, in celebration of July’s Global Care Day, I had the incredible honor of organizing and participating in our "Melodies Beyond Borders: Sino-U.S. Youth Summer Charity Concert" at the Shenyang Wanda Mall—marking a spectacular highlight of our broader July initiative to host five joint Sino-U.S. charity concerts and cultural exchange events. While our mission in the U.S. deeply focuses on bringing music and companionship to local senior centers and hospitals, our China branch allows us a unique opportunity to expand this care to the community by directly supporting and empowering children with special needs, including Down syndrome and autism. Representing Music and Love Inc., we held this heartwarming event in close partnership with the local "Tangbao Running Toward the Sunshine" team. It was a true celebration of joy and inclusion as the children took the stage to showcase their amazing talents through a wonderful variety of programs, including lively singing, vibrant dancing, and beautiful musical performances that deeply moved everyone in the audience. To bridge the distance across the ocean, we also broadcasted touching performance videos and heartfelt messages of encouragement recorded by our U.S. members on the mall’s massive LED screens, proving that love truly knows no boundaries. To combine this emotional encouragement with practical care, our Music and Love team concluded this unforgettable afternoon by presenting essential food packages—containing premium rice and sausages—to each participating child and their family. Seeing the smiles on the children's faces as they sang, danced, and received these gifts made this trip an incredibly rewarding experience. Whether bringing comfort to seniors in Maryland or creating a stage of inclusion for children with special needs in China, we are incredibly proud of how our global family continues to build unique, lasting bridges of love and care across the world.
