Our Music and Love concert is at Germantown Holy Cross Hospital today. The sun was shining and the music was fantastic. I was so excited today because it was my first time playing a duet on piano with my friend, Allie and we are the first to play. We played a song from my favorite Disney movie, Moana. Both of us enjoyed it and we will do it again next time. We have another piano duet from Candice and Caitlyn. Their piece was fast and full of happiness. Other than piano, we had a variety of different instruments. We heard multiple violin pieces and a clarinet piece from Marcus. Today's highlight is a unique instrument, Guzheng. It is a traditional Chinese instrument that we rarely see here. The music piece played by Joanna was unique and fantastic, it sounded like a fast flowing river. The last performance was a violin duet played by Faith and Esther. Their music dragged us back to calm with beautiful notes. What a joyful and successful concert! (Reported by Grace Zhou)

Today was a sunny day at the Raphael House. Today we started off with Allie Rui playing Mozart K333 on the piano, a fast-moving piece to get us started with the day. Then we had Evelyn Thai on the violin playing Concerto No.5 in D major, a piece that’s happy and high-spirited. Then we had Luke Chen play Spanish Caballero, a quick piece that will give the exciting vibes of solving a mystery. Then we had Edwin Thai play Sonata Op. 2 No.1, a charming piece that was greatly played. Last but not least, there was also a duet with Tsumugi Okado and Momo Sasaki. They played Castle in the Sky, a calming and melodious piece towards the end of our concert. (Reported by Rishita Dey)
This past Sunday, our promising young musicians brought smiles and music to the residents of Raphael House with a heartfelt performance as part of our ongoing charity work. Our program included selections by Johann Sebastian Bach, whose timeless melodies created a serene atmosphere, a nostalgic piece by Fritz Kreisler, delighting the audience with its charm and warmth, a lyrical beauty by Chopin, leaving listeners with a sense of calm and reflection, and many more. More than just a concert, the visit was an exchange of love and connection. Our young performers shared not only their musical gifts but also their hearts, filling the room with energy, compassion, and warmth. Residents expressed their gratitude for the joy and companionship the music brought, reminding us once again of how powerfully music bridges generations and uplifts the spirit. Thunder in Drought Season, a cultural composition with abrupt dynamic changes and sharp rhythms, opened the concert. Its intensity instantly drew in the audience and established the evening's dramatic tone. The program then switched to three somber pieces: Für Elise, Beethoven's Tempest Sonata No. 17, and Grieg's Sonata Op. 7. The program's middle had a strong classical tone because of the expressive and emotional playing. When the youngest artists took the stage, the atmosphere became more relaxed. As the kids played, the audience relaxed and leaned forward, feeling both anticipation and excitement. As if to encourage them to continue, the applause was warmer and longer after each piece, and parents raised their phones to record. Somewhere in Time, which contrasted with the earlier classical pieces with its flowing, cinematic quality, marked the program's return to modern music. The final piece was Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, giving the concert a striking finish. There was a warm hum of appreciation at the end of the performance, as the audience reluctantly left the music behind. (Reported by Angelina Lin)
Today’s music and love performance was a great success. The program featured many talented musicians who showcased their skills with passion and precision. Each instrument added something unique, creating an enjoyable experience for the audience. One highlight of the evening was Stephen Chen, who delivered an incredibly long and impressive solo. His performance stood out for both its technical ability and energy, earning strong applause from the crowd. Overall, it was a memorable event that celebrated music, talent, and community.
