On a cold and windy December afternoon, Music & Love made its debut at Cogir of Potomac. From the moment we entered the capacious, beautifully decorated facility—complete with an aquarium filled with vibrant, colorful fish—it was clear that the seniors were excited by the number and variety of young performers. The holiday spirit quickly filled the room with a festive Christmas medley performed by Helen Morton, Dean Wei, and Chloe Choi, followed by Faith Tian and Esther Tian’s lively performance of March of the Nutcracker, along with an energetic performance of Santa Claus Gets Letter by Frankie Pepper on the piano. During the middle of the performance, the performers distributed handmade, one-of-a-kind Christmas cards to the seniors, and the smiles that spread across the room made their happiness impossible to miss. This thoughtful gesture is sure to remain an unforgettable part of their Christmas month. The audience’s attention was especially captured by Sihong Ren’s performance of Dance of the Golden Snake on the pipa, which drew great interest from the seniors. Later in the program, the seniors thoroughly enjoyed Band Molten Chaos’s performances of Call Me and Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and they were also delighted by Avery Wang’s graceful ballet. By the end of the afternoon, it was clear that Music & Love had made a memorable impression and would be warmly welcomed back in the future. (Reported by Benjamin Peng)
