Momo is 11 years old, and has been playing the violin since she was five years old. She has won several competitions including 1st Prize in both the 2023 and 2024 YMIC Metropolitan Music Festival, 1st Prize in Rockville Music Competition in 2022, Absolute Winner Prize in the International Youth Music Competition 2023 and 2024, Gold Prize and Fantastic Technique Special Prize in the London Young Musician Season 2023-4, 2nd Prize in 2024 American Virtuoso International Music Competition followed by an invitation to perform at the Carnegie Hall, as well as 3rd Prize in Manolov International Competition New York 2024. In December 2023, when Momo was 9 years old, she performed Zigeunerweisen by Pablo de Sarasate at Carnegie Hall.
Furthermore, Momo has been accepted to prestigious programs including the Heifetz Institute 2025 Summer Program. In summer 2024, she participated in the Interlochen Advanced Strings Junior Summer Camp, where she won the Junior Honors Recital Competition. She has earned placements in the Levine School of Music’s Rising Stars Program (selective merit program) and has received multiple String Department Distinction Awards.
Momo is currently part of a string trio, the Clefhangers. They were awarded Honorable Mention at the Misbin Family Memorial Chamber Music Competition 2025. Momo is also a member of the MCYO ensemble which will perform along with the Grammy-nominated jazz composer MIHO HAZAMA & m_unit at the Strathmore Concert Hall in April 2025. In the past, she played in several ensembles including the DCYOP, AYPO, Levine Music THEARC Chamber as well as Hummingbird String Quartet.
Aside from the violin, Momo enjoys abacus, swimming, gymnastics, and karate. Momo is trilingual, fluent in English, Japanese, and Spanish.
